So in June.... hot... hot... hot June, i was able to spend a week at BYU campus and participate in ...(drum roll please:-) YOUNG MUSICIANS SUMMERFESTIVAL!!! (loud cheers and claps) hahaha so here is a synopsis (its gonna be quick. fasten your seat belts!). arrive sunday. fireside sunday night. auditions monday. my schedule was as follows: 8:00-9:50 am wind ensemble. (where i played 3rd alto saxophone. there were four altos. i auditioned for tenor. but the alto was fun!) 10:00-10:50 i had my master class. i learned so much there!!! 11:00-11:50 was a jazz improv class. that was fun. at noon i had an hour lunch. i went to jamba juice everyday for lunch. yummy:-) 1:00-1:50 i had free time so i usually practiced then. 2:00-2:50 i went to a world music class where we learned about the music of the Indonesian island Bali. 3:00-5:30 i had my jazz ensemble. the concert for that ensemble was friday night. the conductor was pro. steve call. here are some videos.
